Slow cooked beef brisket

Brisket is one of my favourite cuts and so easy to cook. Pop all the ingredients in slow cooker in the morning and enjoy melt in your mouth brisket for dinner with minimal effort!

Spice Rub:

  • 2 tsp paprika

  • 2 tsp ground cumin

  • 2 tsp mixed herbs

  • 2 tsp brown sugar

  • 2 tsp garlic poder or 2 cloves fresh

  • 2 tsp sea salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Ingredients:

  • 2-3kg beef brisket

  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 2 tbsp worcestershire

    Method:

  1. Mix together spice ingredients. Trim off any visible fat off brisket, rub spice mix all over. If you have time, marinate overnight otherwise don’t worry.

  2. Add BBQ sauce, Worcestershire and 1/4 cup water to bottom of slow cooker. Place brisket on top and cook on low for about 8 hours. Turn the brisket after a few hours.

  3. Remove brisket from slow cooker and thinly slice the beef, it should be melt in your mouth tender. Serve with roasted vegetables, steamed greens or add to wraps, pita, sandwiches.
